[1] In the early 1960s Charles H. Babcock (1899-1967) gave the house and its contents to the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation. The house was then incorporated as a museum and collection (Reynolda House, Inc.) on December 18, 1964 with the signing of the charter at its first board meeting. The museum first opened to the public in September 1965.

DescriptionOne of six matching torch standards of bronze and gilt bronze that light the subsidiary entrances to the Reception Room. The standard is twisted, gradually increasing in circumference from the base to the scrolled and gilded acanthus leaves that support the electric fixture at the top. The standards are joined to the wall by an elongated scroll ornamented with gilded acanthus leaf and attached to the wall in the center of a large cluster of four gilded acanthus leaves decorated with enameled red berries. The reproduction paper shades are decorated with bowknots and wreaths.ProvenanceFrom 1964
