DescriptionBarnstormers Roscoe Turner and Harry Runser landed on Reynolda's front lawn in October 1920. The Winston-Salem Journal reported that “Mrs. Reynolds very graciously granted the privilege of using her yard for a landing field, asking that it be made after 4 o’clock so that the children, out of the classroom by that time, would have the opportunity of seeing the first airplane landing in a front yard.”ProvenanceHistoric Photographs Collection created when Reynolda House Museum of American Art established its Archives in 1993.
