DescriptionThis round vase with prominent shoulder and tall neck tapers toward the base where its foot flares sharply outward. It is covered overall with a brilliant red-orange lustre glaze developed by William Howson Taylor (1876-1935). Together with his father, artist and educator Edward Richard Taylor (1835-1911), W.H. Taylor established the Ruskin Pottery in 1904. This lustre glaze was one of many developed by W.H. Taylor for use on Ruskin Pottery forms that were designed by him. The pottery produced was notable for Taylor's innovative glazes and won many awards at international exhibitions.ProvenanceFrom early 1960s to 2011
