[1] In the early 1960s Charles H. Babcock (1899-1967) gave the house and its contents to the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation. The house was then incorporated as a museum and collection (Reynolda House, Inc.) on December 18, 1964 with the signing of the charter at its first board meeting. The museum first opened to the public in September 1965.

DescriptionThe bulbous coarse stoneware jar (a) with domed cover (b) and prominent short neck and foot is covered with a bright green glossy glaze with flowing (flambé) character. The domed cover has a wide flange and large globular knob. The bottom, foot rim and inside of the cover are unglazed. The interior of the jar is covered with an ashy-white opaque glaze. The jar is displayed on a round Japanese teak wood stand with pierced decoration.ProvenanceFrom 1964
