[1] In the early 1960s Charles H. Babcock (1899-1967) gave the house and its contents to the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation. The house was then incorporated as a museum and collection (Reynolda House, Inc.) on December 18, 1964 with the signing of the charter at its first board meeting. The museum first opened to the public in September 1965.

DescriptionThis three-arm electric sconce of silvered metal consists of three scroll arms supporting flaring candle cups over wide dish-shaped bobeches (or wax catchers) that hold three candle lights with replaced clip-on parchment shades. The arms are attached to a wall plate of double baluster form with a top ornament in the form of an escutcheon and a tassel at the bottom. The whole sconce is covered with ornament in low relief of fruits, flowers, and scrolls executed in the style of the Renaissance.ProvenanceFrom 1964
